I'm not sure if I'm putting off shooting because of the threat of an increasingly tense schedule (due to Finals Week proximity)...
Or because several of my recent concepts would require Steph, which is very intense and evocative to me, but also bittersweet...
Or simply because some of the concepts are exceedingly difficult, either in terms of the amount of shots I would have to take, the complexity added by attempting to maintain a consistent feel in all of my shots, and/or the challenges in scheduling shoots with the friends I would require.
I like film, but I think the biggest con is its delay and time consumption; I would love to be able to shoot some quick shots just as a proof of concept, in order to better understand things in my head, but that's just not available with film.
Things I will need to go about purchasing:
- Large matte-black backdrop cloth (or something similar) for contrast against skin-tones
- Some kind of soft white lighting system; if I have to go for utility lights and a fucking sheet, I suppose I will, but that would not lend itself to quick and easy setup.
- My own tripod (I need to stop relying on the equipment of others)
By the way, for any friends I may direct to this - if you are willing to pose nude (in whole or in part) for my photography, let me know. None of my current ideas require it, but it's always good to have an idea of the feasibility of a shot if some revelation hits me.
Ah...I think that's it. : /
